Thanks to my Plant and Eat initiative, all seven GOA Children’s Homes have been benefiting from new plantations and stables since April 2024. As an experienced farmer and agricultural engineer, I saw the opportunity to cultivate the land around the Children’s Homes in a more diverse way.

The aim of Plant and Eat is to enable the homes to be more self-sufficient in order to provide the children with a more varied diet. My friend Peter Muchiri, a Kenyan agronomist, is implementing the measures on site and training the staff.

The project is financed with a monthly contribution of CHF 1000.00 from my private funds. Donations are very welcome!

If you would like to find out more about the individual children’s homes, you can find more detailed information on the GOA Switzerland website (in German).

Peter Muchiri, Agronomist

As a government employee, Peter Muchiri travels throughout Kenya training agronomists. His work is important because there is no agricultural education in Kenya and knowledge is usually only passed on within the family. Peter educates farmers about the quality of seeds, for example.

Peter does his work for the children’s homes in his spare time. He instructs the local employees in the practical implementation of the Plant and Eat measures.

In some homes, the children also help out, thus acquiring skills for their future.

Donations

Plant and Eat is financed by private donations. I would be delighted if you too would help enable children’s homes to provide themselves with healthy food!
